Hi-TECH CLASSROOM

The institute has technology-enabled classrooms where you can record lectures and presentations do video conferencing and webcasts as well as rich media capture of presentations. Students of AIM are being exposed to a high-tech learning environment with the smart classrooms, Wi-Fi connectivity and network connectivity. The smart classrooms are equipped with LCD projectors, video-conferencing facilities, e-podiums with lights and visualisers.

We have tutorial rooms for individual attention and closer interaction between members of faculty and students. Through tutorials the teachers ensure that each and every student are well acquainted with the subject

Our friendly staffs are willing to clarify key concepts by answering questions, working through problems, and reviewing material.

Here are a few suggestions on how to get the most out of tutoring:

1.      Attend course lectures and review text material

2.      Try your homework before visiting the tutorial hall

3.      Identify your strengths and weakness by preparing specific questions and objectives

4.      Be an active learner. Ask questions until you are confident with the material

5.      Plan ahead and expect larger groups before exams and homework due dates.

6.      Have a positive attitutde and a willingness to learn

Among learning resources, the college has library equipped with proper storing and seating arrangements. The library is fundamental learning resource centre. This is equipped with computer and internet facilities.  It is in the process of developing its database. The library is open on all working days including autumn; winter and summer break so that students and teachers could use it maximally.  The library has equipped e-resources subscribed from DellNet. The college provides facility of consultation of Library and laboratories by the students of other colleges and universities. The faculty members guide research work of M.Ed. students of other universities to facilitate research.

The students are given training to consult library, to locate appropriate references to an assigned topic, to locate and manage information through internet, to consult educational journals and abstracts, to maintain scrap books and to compile information from different documents etc.

As an alumni pointed out, ‘the dorm is like the Gaulish village in Astreix books which opens with a free for all but always ends with merrymaking. You always came back to the dorm where a part of you belonged and a part of which belonged to you’. There are 15 student dormitories with a total capacity to hold about 75 occupants.

Dormitory Facilities include large lounges for group gatherings, small lounges for study sessions or just relaxing. A large-screen TV is featured in one lounge.

The institute has a state-of-the-art auditorium. The 250 seated auditorium is ideally suited for all the purposes which arise from time to time in the institute. The auditorium plays host to internal student events, guest lectures and seminars, and the famed AIM Student General Body Meetings, all major events ranging from the Annual Convocation, the Ethics Oration and Ensemble to performances in arts and music from the finest connoisseurs.

Be it the organizing of cultural events or the orientation of new students – this auditorium is a boon for one and all. It has played host to a huge number of eminent personalities over the years.

The Institute provides latest computer infrastructure to meet the current and emerging needs of students. The computers in the lab are connected through Local Area Network (LAN) with Pentium Server. Each computer is well equipped with various applications namely office automation applications, data base management applications, Graphics and multimedia Applications, Programming languages, client server applications. The operating platforms being used are Unix, Windows 98, Windows 2000 server, Windows 2000 professional, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Computer Laboratory has been well equipped with 120 terminals, which includes i7, i5, i3, Core 2 Duo, Duel Core and Pentium IV processors. Apart from the requirements of the curriculum, Institute also has two leased lines connection of 2Mbps internet facility to facilitate the students, faculty and management for better networking and skills enhancement.. Institute campus has Wi-fi connectivity which provides internet access points, the students are able to browse subject-related texts on their laptops while snacking on a sandwich or sipping juice near the canteen.

Facilities for indoor/ outdoor games and recreation activities are available. Games such as Soccer, Cricket, Badminton, Lawn Tennis, Table tennis, Basketball and Volleyball are very popular among the student community. Fitness conscious students can work out in the gymnasium or go for a jog around the scenic campus. For those who prefer to stay indoors, there is Chess, Carom or Bridge etc. Croquet: AIM has a new croquet lawn now at campus. Infrastructure cell initiated drive to sell all the junks and waste paper, this collection helped in buying sports equipment for croquet. Basketball court: Recently AIM inaugurated an improved basketball court. On the inauguration day, students thronged to see the matches, which were followed by DJ nightBadminton court: Badminton tournament was held earlier this year. Based the overwhelming response in participation and popularity, AIM has planned for another badminton court on campus

MATHEMATICS LAB

The main aim of teaching mathematics is to develop power of abstract thinking and reasoning. It helps in developing the habit of verification in the students. They accept mathematical truths only after confirming their validity practically. The lab contains number kit, place value pockets, magic lantern, film strip projector, epidiascope, pictures, geometrical instruments, calculating machine etc. To assist the mathematics’ students, the college has well equipped Mathematics Resource Centre. 3D models, charts, kits, geo boards and mathematical geometrical instrument box are provided to facilitate the learning.

BIOLOGY LAB

The Science Laboratory is well equipped with the requisite facilities and equipments as per NCTE norms on desirable lines. The college has a well equipped science laboratory with three big demonstration tables, charts and models, and apparatus required for conducting science practical of school level. It has an epidiascope and an overhead projector also.

 

This laboratory is utilized for conducting theory and practical classes both for teaching of physical sciences and life sciences. The curriculum of teaching of science requires intensive training in conducting practical in science at high school level. To achieve this objective, the students are given training in conducting at least 10 practical each in physical sciences and life sciences as prescribed in the school syllabi.

 

The laboratory is planned in such a way that the contents of theory are substantiated by the charts and models placed in the laboratory, to concretize the phenomena of sciences in the minds of learners. This laboratory is also utilized for giving demonstration lessons in teaching of physical sciences and life sciences to the students.

 

PSYCHOLOGY LAB

College has a well-established psychology laboratory with a sitting capacity of 50 students. It is equipped with more than one hundred psychological tests and other equipment that help the D. El. Ed., B.Ed. and M.Ed. students to conduct experiments in educational psychology. The Laboratory is well equipped with latest tests, tools, inventories and equipments for D. El. Ed., B.Ed. and M.Ed. curriculum requirements.

 

The laboratory is used for imparting training in the administration, scoring and interpretation of at least 5 tests to B.Ed students. M.Ed students are given training in the conduct of ten practical related to memory, fatigue, learning etc. as per BU syllabus. The laboratory is also used by M.Ed and Ph.D scholars for selecting and obtaining research tools.

Psychological lab attempts at standardizing tools and designing theoretical frame from the traditional knowledge .The laboratory hosts a spectrum of facilities to assess cognition ,physical ability and professional skills using computerized test.The laboratory has shown evidences to bring out the efficiency of cognitive abilities.

ART & CRAFT RESOURCE CENTER

The college has an excellent and well decorated fine arts room. The room provides a perfect ambiance for the students to enhance their aesthetic skills and express their creativity. Workshop for fabricating teaching Aids and art exhibits. This lab is used for three purposes

  • Conducting lectures for teaching of fine art and preparation of Paintings by the students of teaching of fine art.
  • For providing training in preparation of articles prescribed in the syllabus of Home craft.
  • For guiding and improving the teaching aids.

 

Art and Craft can be an extremely efficient medium to teach students the skill required for creative, innovative and organized team activities .We are provide resources like various kinds of paints, canvases, cloth and clay for making props for drama shows. Glass painting and collage are to be prepared by students. This resources are utilized for the skill development of students and teachers and others .Extra- curricular and creativity are also develop .All the making art and craft aids is display in our particular class room and college wall. All equipments that is a set of wood working tools, raw materials and equipment for all doll making ,materials for preparation of charts, raw materials and equipments for dress designing ,materials for preparation of models, stationary goods, tools like scale, clothes is available.

The art teacher purchases canvas, oil colours, pastel colours, enamel colours, brushes, pots, linseed oil, easels and books every year for providing training in the preparation of paintings. Material for art activities and home craft activities is purchased by the students at their own level.

The Institute has well equipped Technology lab with slide projector, overhead projector, LCD, Television, DVD Player, Self-instructional Programmed learning materials, Computers, Demonstration multimedia lessons, models, charts, maps, transparencies, slides, white board, etc. of standard quality. Technology lab is being utilized by all the faculty & Students. The students are acquainted with knowledge, uses, working and operation of various technology & aids. The students have to prepare transparencies, PowerPoint presentations, charts, models in their teaching subjects. Teachers make use of various aids for the teaching purpose & giving demonstration lessons to make the learning of various topics interesting and effective.

 

Educational Technology Laboratory is well equipped with latest equipments for facilitating Teaching-learning process and training purposes. There is a attached demonstration room which has got tables with demonstration place on its three sides. DIGITAL LANGUAGE LAB

The young learners have to impart skills to merge into a dynamic society where knowkedge, culture, technology and attitude are changing at an alarming speed. Digital Language Lab with all its features helps the student to update their knowledge, skills and attitudes in communication. The Teacher/Linguist can design and create new and interesting materials for a computer added classroom with a communicative approach.

Self Pacing

The students may work through the lesson material at a pace suited to their ability.

Developing Listening Skills

Listening skills are an essential element in becoming linguistically fluent. The Digital Language Lab help students develop good listening skills that aid the process of communication. Students hear the correct pattern of pronunciation from their PC’s through headsets instead of mimicking other student’s improper pronunciation and slang.

Native Speaker/Different Voices

The Digital lab provides students with a variety of model voices rather than just the voice of the teacher (whether a native speaker or not). Our most modern systems have a model voice feature allowing a native speaker to converse which is used as a model voice to be heard and repeated.

Reading/Recording/Comparing

The students have the ability to read the text, repeat and record their own voices along with the master stimulus. Each student can be working interactively on different segments within the same program or be working with completely different program material. Students can retrieve and hear their recorded voices together with the model voice.

Writing (Typing)

Students have the provision to type (write) the text which they read.

Digital Language Lab offers complementary materials for D.El.Ed, B.Ed and M.Ed. students at all stages of language proficiency; All students cannot but improve their knowledge of a language/communicative skill from the positions that they were in at the start of the course. Language Lab opens for them a new window of opportunities in the global job scenario. The opportunities at Call Centers, Nursing jobs, Medical transcription, personal or telephonic interviews from potential employers from the East, West, North or South, can be enhanced through efficient communication.

HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION RESOURCE CENTRE

With the conviction that healthy mind lives in a healthy body, the college takes special care of physical health of the students and teachers. Games teach the lesson that struggle is more important than success. “The important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well”.

The physical and mental development influence the character of a person. Development of personal qualities like endurance, self-control, courage, self-reliance, imagination, leadership and enterprise etc.

Health and Physical Education Resources in our institute helps indicated a spite of sportsmanship and team leadership among the students .We have sports equipments of the highest quality ,which are made available to our students throughout the session health and physical resources are utilized for the development of students and teachers in the institute. Institute have a fully equipped these resources. Centre it provide various opportunities for students to dual in indoor and outdoor sports activities .The students can avail of indoor games like chess, carrom board and outdoor games like badminton, volleyball, cricket, basket ball, tennis, kho-kho and a track of 200 meters. Institute aims to develop professional competence through physical, emotional development for benefit of students.
