    Q1) How far is the Institute from the main city?

    Ans. : The Institute is situated at Amla Near Ratibad, 15 Km away from New Market. The institute’s buses are available from each corner of Bhopal.

    Q2) Is there any general store for daily requirements?

    Ans. : There is an Institutional general store which keeps all the general items that may be required. Besides, the students may easily go to New Market, Jawahar Chowk Market, M.P. Nagar and Old City which has appreciable number of shops for all general goods.

    Q3) Is there a Bank facility provided at the Institute?

    Ans. : No, Education Loan facility is provided by many banks to the students. State Bank of India, Bank of India and their ATM are available Ratibad.

    Q6) How are the security arrangements at the Institute?

    Ans. : The Institute has its own security force that works round the clock at the entrance gate. Every person entering the Institute must have proper identification documents. Guests or visitors of a student may be allowed inside only after verification from the student.

    Q7) How is the weather at Bhopal?

    Ans. : Bhopal has an extreme type of climate that may vary from 38 degrees to even 13 degrees. However, the temperature in most of the parts of the semester is fairly pleasant.

    Ans. : Management is incomplete without each other. One needs a good exposure over in order to succeed in life. Building technical solutions is not enough, they need to be deployed and made a part of the social life of the people. They need to be made acceptable by the people by overcoming all their resistance. Similarly the management solutions need to have a technical base for their most optimal and efficient performance.     Ans. : Bhopal is well-connected by both road and rail to all major destinations. Being the Capital of Madhya Pradesh and numerous trains and buses running at regular interval adds an extra advantage. Bhopal even has air connectivity to many cities around the country.

    • Infrastructure

    Q1) Is a guest house available for the parents?

    Ans. : The guest house is presently under construction and would be completed soon. Once ready the parents with prior permission would be allowed to stay in the hostels.

    Q2) Is hot water available for students?

    Ans. : Yes. All hostels have geysers installed in bathrooms.

    Q3) Are there some hostel rules and regulations?

    Ans. : Yes. Students must maintain discipline in the mess, in the common room, and within hostel premises in general. The students violating rules may have to face disciplinary action as decided by the authorities.

    Q4) Are telephones installed in hostels?

    Ans. : Yes. Each hostel has a telephone that the parents can use to contact their children. The students may use a calling card to make local/STD calls from the phone.

    Q5) Can students keep computers in their rooms?

    Ans. : Yes. Students can keep their own computers in their rooms.

    Q6) Is a computer needed for studying at the College?

    Ans. : No. The Institute has enough labs which have 120 numbers of computers connected to internet. Students can operate round the clock. Besides, the student in general does not require a computer, although he/she may bring one if he/she desires.

    Q7) Can I keep electrical and musical equipments in my room?

    Ans. : Heaters and coolers not permitted in any room. Students can keep music equipment, but should ensure that they will not disturb their neighbors.

    Q8) What if I am being bothered by some students?

    Ans. : Report the case immediately to the warden. Suitable action will be taken by the warden.

    Q9) What furniture do I get in my room?

    Ans. : You get a study table, 1 chair, and a bed. Tube-light fittings and fans exist in all rooms. You must bring your own bedding.

    Q10) How many students need to share a room?

    Ans. : Every room is allotted in twin sharing basis.

    Q11) Are computer facilities available in the hostels?

    Ans. : No, there aren’t computer rooms in hostel, only Wi-Fi connectivity is available, which can be accessed round the clock.

    Q12) Is there any entertainment facility in hostels?

    Ans. : Each hostel has a common room which is equipped with a Cable TV. Each hostel is provided with a reading room that has magazines and newspapers. Each hostel also has a collection of books for general reading.

    Q13) What does mess food include?

    Ans. : The Mess routine includes Breakfast, lunch, evening tea, and dinner. The food served in the hostel is simple and hygienic. Additionally, students can purchase special items such as ice cream, juice, snacks etc. from the hostel canteen.

    Q14) What are the mess timings?

    Ans. : Breakfast begins at 7.30 AM and remains available up to 9.30 AM. Similarly, lunch is from 12.30 PM to 2.00 PM. Dinner timing is from 7.30 PM to 9:00 PM. Evening tea is from 5:30PM to 6:30 PM.

    Q15) How do I pay for the mess?

    Ans. : Mess fees is paid through a form at the time of registration which transfers the money to the hostel’s mess account. Adjustments against the paid amount are done at the year end.

    Q16) Are guests allowed inside hostels?

    Ans. : In the boys’ hostel, male friends, male relatives, and parents are permitted to enter on prior permission with the hostel authorities.

    Q17) Is there any medical facility in hostel?

    Ans. : Every hostel is provided with a medical first aid box that the students can use in case of emergency.

    Q18) Are there any timings of the hostels entrance?

    Ans. : The girls’ hostel has strict timings which the girls must adhere. They are not allowed to leave the hostel after stipulated time. The Boys Hostel does not have any time restriction within the campus. But students must reach the institute campus by 12 midnight. They are not allowed to leave the campus after this time.

    Q19) In case of any problem in the hostel, whom should we contact?

    Ans. : Each hostel has a separate residential warden and a chief warden. In case of any help students are free to approach their respective wardens. The contact details of the wardens are:

    Q20) In case of any electrical problems, what can the students do?

    Ans. : The institute provides electrical staff, carpenters and other staff for all general needs. They are always available. The students may contact the hostel guards or the residential warden for all such issues.

    Q21) What is the quality of water being served at the hostels?

    Ans. : Every hostel has adequate number of RO water purifiers along with water coolers installed at various places. These give pure water for drinking.

    Q22) How often are there power cuts in the hostels?

    Ans. : The hostels very rarely have power cuts. Usually power is available 24 hours.

    Q23) Is there any power backup in the Institute?

    Ans. : The Institute has power backup for the entire academic and administrative block that ensures a regular supply of power even in case of power failures.

    Q24) Is there appropriate cooling in the classes and labs?

    Ans. : The entire academic block comprising of Lecture Theaters (Hi-Tech Class Rooms), Seminar Hals, Labs etc. and the administrative Block are centrally air conditioned.

    Q25) What would happen if there is a sudden emergency?

    Ans. : AIM is a fully residential campus with all the faculties and even Director residing at the campus itself. In such cases suitable help would be extended at the earliest. Any faculty may be contacted for help. Besides, the students are always available for help.

     Q1) What are the sports facilities provided by the institute?

    Ans. : There is an indoor sports room in every hostel along with a Gym. Basket Ball & Badminton courts are also available. A Snooker Table is also provided at the main hostel. Facilities for all major sports are provided

    Ans. : The swimming pool is presently under construction and would be completed soon.

    Q3) Are there any clubs or communities in college?

    Ans. :To provide a vent to the creativity of budding professionals, AIM has a number of clubs and societies (Yoga and Meditation, CONSULT Club, CULTURAL Club, Faculty Interaction Cell, AIM Cultural & Theatrical Society, Literary & Symposium Desk, Movie Club, NICHE – Marketing Club, PERSPECTIVES – Photography Club, PRAYAAS – Community Service Initiative , PRAKRITI Club, SPORTS Club,  Astronomy Club, OR Club, The Logistics Club, Placement Committee, Web Committee, Strategym Committee, Alumni Relationship Committee, Corporate Relations Committee, Catalyst Forum, Students Academic Committee, Entrepreneurship Cell and Media Committee) catering to the varied areas of interest. The clubs have their mission statements and well spelt-out areas of functioning.     Q4) Besides academics, what is the student life in the Institute?

    Ans. : The Institute has 3 major festivals, the cultural festival Aurora, the techno-management festival Infotsav, and sports festival Twaran. Besides there are student activities and HIQ sessions throughout the year conducted by the Abhigyan AbhikaushalmStudents’ Forum and Students’ Forum for Free/Open Source Software. Urja is organized every year as the inter-batch sports event.

    Q5) Does the institute have an alumni association?

    Ans. : Yes. The institute has an alumni association. The association works as an interface between the alumnus, students and the Institute.

    Q6) What are the options of sightseeing in Bhopal?

    Ans. : Bhopal is a city with great traditional importance. The place provides good palaces. Moti Masjid, Tajul Masjid, Bhojpur, Manav Sangralaya, Van Vihar, Vote Club, Vidhan Sabha and Birla Mandirfort is known throughout the country. Besides there is Sun Temple and various other places.

    Q7) What if the students are facing problems of any kind?

    Ans. : Every student is provided with a faculty coordinator. The role of faculty coordinator is to look after all the problems of the student to enable him perform at his best in academics and the other spheres. The role of a faculty coordinator is more of that of a parent. Besides, all the faculties are always willing to help the students for their problems.

    Q8) How is the interaction between the student and faculties?

    Ans. : Any student can approach the faculty for any problem both inside the class and at the faculty office. The students usually approach the faculties for discussing all problems that accounts for a good interaction between the students and faculty. For the same a special room has been allocated as the student-teacher interaction room.

    Q9) Are mobiles allowed in Institute?

    Ans. : The student may carry mobiles with him. However the use of mobiles in classes is strictly prohibited. The student must put his mobile switched off during classes. The candidate is not allowed to keep mobile in the examination hall at all.

    Q10) Do I get an email ID at the Institute domain?

    Ans. : Every student gets an email ID of the form xxxxx@students.aim-bhopal.org. Also the students get a personal web site with the URL http://students.AIM-india.org/~<reg_no>/. The Institute uses user name and passwords for the access to the Institute internet.

    Q11) Are there any restrictions in the Institute internet?

    Ans. : Yes. The students are not allowed to access any pornographic content. Also flashing advertisements are blocked. Torrents are not allowed. Students cannot use the internet on any other port other than the http.

    Q12) What are the places to hang out with friends at Bhopal?

    Ans. : Bhopal has shopping malls, film theaters,  UpperLake (The largest artificial lake in Asia). LakeView , Van Vihar National Park., The Boat Club, New Market, Taj-ul-Masajid Aquarium Building Bharat Bhawan, Lal Parade Ground, Museumof Natural History, Manuabhan ki tekri Libraries and many other places at small distances. These are good means of outing. The city is well connected by public means of transport in form of publicc buses, autos and tempos that may be used for the travel.

    Q12) What are the Excursions at Bhopal and Madhya Pradesh?

    Ans. : Bhopal Buddhist Monuments at Sanchi, Rock Shelters of Bhimbetka (Bhimbetka Caves), Bandhavgarh National Park, Gwalior (Taj Mahal and Fort), Jabalpur (Bhedaghat), Khajuro, Mandu, Orchha, Seoni, Shivpuri are the tourist destination of Madhya.

    Q13) And what about restaurants?

    Ans. : Bhopal has good restaurants of all ranges at various places of the city. Manohar, Wind & Waves, New Inn Shahnama, Jehan Numa Palace Hotel,  Rice Bowl,  rajhans regent,  Kinara,  Rajdhani – Bhopal, Indian Coffee House and some hotels i.e. Noor Us Sabah Palace, Hotel Palash Residency, Jehan Numa Palace, Hotel Amer Palace, Hotel Sonali Regency, Hotel Lake View Ashok, Hotel Ranjit’s Lakeview, Hotel Nisarga, The Residency, The Mark Hotel N Club, Rajhans Regent, Hotel Surendra Vilas, Hotel Arch Manor, Hotel Reva Regency, are to name a few.     Ans. : All the students of the Institute reside at the hostels that make the environment really friendly. AIM students are more of a family that share cordial relations. Students extend all sorts of help to their pals at any time. Besides, the rich and intellectual environment makes it a great place for learning.

    Q15) Any ragging in the Institute?

    Ans. : Ragging in any form is strictly banned in the Institute.

    Q16) My child does not have a very good English. Would he be able to cope up and develop the same?

    Ans. : Every student of the Institute comes and learns a lot from their peers who are there to guide, advice and take guidance in return. The Institute has a very good peer to peer learning culture. Also there are numerous activities and events throughout the year that give every student a lot of exposure to not only good English but also personality development, skills development and knowledge enhancement.

    Q17) My child does not know about computers as well, how would he be able to cope up?

    Ans. : The students learn a lot by seeing and practicing here. The rich environment coupled with step by step expert guidance by peers makes every student learn exponentially. We have seen students starting from nothing and within a very short time becoming a pro.

    Q18) My child has always been a studious student. He was never been involved in extracurricular activities. Would this do?

    Ans. : Seeing students rise up from the Institute and going into industry tells us that the participation of the students in organizing activities, participating in events and taking initiation plays a key role towards their success. These teach the students leadership, time management and so many things that may not be easily covered in class. At the graduate and post graduate level it is important to participate in the extracurricular activities.

    Q19) How are the events celebrated in the Institute?

    Ans. : The Institute celebrates all major festivals like Diwali, Holi, New Year, etc. These are celebrated by the student community. The Kite Urja is a very popular celebration in the Institute.

    Q22) Is it compulsory for the students to stay in hostels, Why?

    Ans. : No, but we suggest to students to stay in the hostel because they will learn a lot in the environment that is prevalent in the AIM hostels. The peer to peer learning and regular guidance and help by the peers go a long way in building up the students.

    Q23) Is there any chance of special recognition for students interested in sports?

    Ans. : The Institute has a very active sports group that keeps participating at various national level competitions organized by other institutions/universities. These give a lot of exposure to the students.

     Q1) What is the advantage that AIM has over other management institutes?

    Ans. : Management studies require a lot of practical and industrial exposure. AIM provides its students a blend of management. With live projects, students have an opportunity to learn the practical aspects of theory during the course itself.     Q2) What is the teaching methodology at AIM, Bhopal?

    Ans. : The institute provides an excellent academic environment with accent on self-learning. Curriculum delivery is effected through group and self learning, seminars, conferences, case methods, live projects with industry, guest lectures and panel discussions with CEO’s and professionals from the industry. The system of assessment is based on continuous evaluation through tests, surprise quizzes, home assignments, laboratory work, industry projects, presentations etc.

    Q4) Are there any financial aids available for the course?

    Ans. : The students receive full help in this regard. AIM has come forward with loan facilities are Bank of India, State bank of India, Axis bank, Allahahbad bank etc. Apart from loans, various scholarships are also available. The SC/ST/OBC candidates have their almost tuition fees exempted.

    Q5) What is the criterion of MBA specialization Programme?

    Ans. : Presently the Institute has no set rules in this regard. Students are free to choose MBA specialisation according to their own will. This choice is made after the first year. The Institute, however, may set down some criterion if the number of students to either of the course falls below expectations.

    Q6) How is the evaluation done in AIM?

    Ans. : The student getting less than 40% marks has to reappear in the examinations. Any student may opt to give an improvement in any of the examination, if he wishes. Scoring is done based on continuous assessment consisting of external examinations, internal examination, assignments, quizzes, attendance etc. AIM follows distribution of marks (As per University Guidelines) are as follows :-

    External evaluation in each paper of 80 marks (i.e. Section A (4 x 8) = 32 Marks and Section B (3 x 16) = 48 Marks) and Internal evaluation in each paper of 20 marks (i.e.  Mid Term Test -50% , Seminar-30% and Class Performance – 20%)

    Q7) What are credits?

    Ans. : Every course opted by a student, whether theory or practical, is weighted by means of credits. A high credit means a larger weight age and vice versa.

    Q8) What specialization would be offered in MBA (2 year Full Time) programme?

    Ans. : There are three separate specialization offered for the MBA (2 year Full Time) programme. The specialization is considered in Marketing, Finance & Human Resource.. The electives and the dissertation however are on the basis of interest of the students that specialize them to some domain.

    Q9) What about studying abroad after AIM?

    Ans. : Students have done PhD & many courses from reputed foreign universities in the future. All students can join foreign universities as Research Associates.

    Q10) Apart from the academics, is there any scope for extra learning?

    Ans. : The students of the Institute have always explored new areas that are not covered in class. Students actively study Case analysis, paper presentation, GD, PI, Cultural, Ad-mad show, Business quizs, etc. besides various management fests competitions etc throughout the country. Students have won in many of these. A lot of emphasis is given to research.

    Q11) What are the class timings at AIM?

    Ans. : The class timings depend upon the batch and the schedule of the students and the faculty. The classes are conducted between 11 AM to 4 PM which include both theories as well as lab sessions. Saturdays and Sundays are off. There is always a scope of extra classes and the lectures by visiting faculties.

    Q12) What is the concept of visiting faculty? Does AIM have visiting faculties?

    Ans. : It is usually not possible to get the best people of every domain right in the Institute. For the same many courses are conducted by faculty from external organizations and cities. They usually come on Saturdays and Sundays to take classes much longer than usual. With a rich and diverse faculty, the requirement of visiting faculties is relatively less, but still we have visiting faculties in a number of courses.

    Q13) What is an elective?

    Ans. : Every time students are free to choose any subject according to their own choice from a list of subjects. These are called electives. These help the students specialize in a particular domain as well as to study subjects of their choice.

    Q14) How are electives opted?

    Ans. : The possibility of electives at fourth semester is mentioned at the course curriculum. A list is provided to the students containing the various electives being offered. The student selects the desired elective.

    Q15) What are FDPs and how does AIM contribute towards the same?

    Ans. : The FDPs or the Faculty Development Programmes are the special programmes that the Instate organizes from time to time for the development of the faculties of other institutes. AIM takes this as its social responsibility. In the past numerous such programmes have been organized whose information is available at the website.

    Q16) How is the value addition done to courses taught at AIM?

    Ans. : The Institute from time to time organizes special lectures from professors of other institutions/universities. This gives the students a lot of exposure. In the previous year such lectures were conducted by invited visiting faculty.

    Ans. : AIM brings the CEOs and leading people from the industry for interacting with the students. This further helps the students in numerous ways. In the previous year such sessions were conducted by General Managers, Industrialists, Leading Business Houses and Consultants.
