The sad blood bonding episode occurred in July 2002 during Activity Parakram, when India prepared troops at the India-Pakistan line following an assault on Parliament. Because of an unexpected disease, Chauhan was hospitalized at a tactical clinic in Jammu. One unit of blood was regulated to him without assent.
