The two-year M.Ed. course is designed on the approval of NCTE to cater to the needs of Teacher Training Institutions. It prepares teacher educators to work in the area of teacher education. The special feature of the course is to prepare teacher educators for Educational Research and field based studies especially in the area of Education.
MEd or Master of Education is a master degree course that deals with the study of new methods of teaching and educational research. The programme focuses on different aspects of education including instruction, curriculum, counselling, leadership, and educational technology. The regulatory body in charge of the MEd programme is National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE). MEd is typically of two years duration divided into four semesters. The course is offered in various subjects and specialisations. After the completion of MEd course, candidates can choose to work not only as teachers but also counsellors, administrators, head masters, etc.
Candidates who meet the below-mentioned parameters fulfill eligibility criteria for MEd:
- Candidates should clear BEd (Bachelor of Education)from a recognised college/ university with atlease 50% marks.
- Candidates should clear BEd with the minimum required percentage
- Candidates possessing BElEd (Bachelor of Elementary Education)or BAEd (BA Education)/ BScEd (BSc Education)/ MScEd (MSc Education), D El Ed with Under Graduation degree are also eligible to apply for the course.
The selection of the students is on the basis of merit where the candidates After this the final short listed candidates are called for counseling by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh through MPOnline as per their merit to take admission in the Institute of their choice. At the end of the process, 50 deserving candidates are chosen. These are the best students in their fields the gems that will be polished to be jewels.
The admission process inthe M.Ed course can be taken only by the online off campus counselling conducted Department of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh through MPOnline, and it is performed in multiple steps. Firstly, the candidates are required to fill the registration form and fill the priority regarding colleges and institutes. Then, the seat will be allotted to candidates on the basis of merit list. After that, the Board will publish a list of qualified students on the official website. The merit list is also available for applicants. The vacant seats of this course will be filled up by the waiting list.
